We are raising money for the Alzheimer's Society as a charity close to both our hearts. We decided to compete in memory of our late grandparents, Jean Boorman, Jean White & Michael Jones, who were affected by Dementia. We hope to reduce the impact that Dementia has on individuals and families with your generous donations as well as use our platform to raise awareness of the disease.
We can't break these records or get to the start line without our generous sponsors and donors who we proudly display on our social media and websites. If you are interested in helping us by becoming a donor or sponsor, please get in touch. We also have a fundraising page below where anonymous or named donations can be made. Listed below is how your donations will help and what they will go towards.
WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Go Lou!! Very proud of you both, paving the way for more strong, young women in sailing
My 8-year-old daughter will love this story. You guys are inspirational. Will be following the race
Go girls, you will be inspiring many youngsters (and some old ones) to get out there. I will be watching you all the way round
Best of luck from your fans at Precious Knots!
Good luck girls. It will be an amazing adventure and very brave
Go girls. I'm sure you will smash it!
The team at Jeremy Rogers' boat yard will be watching your progress and wishing you every success. Raising money for Alzheimer's research is a worthy cause and one that we fully support. Go girls!
Major sponsorship and donations will go towards securing and insuring a yacht for our record-breaking race; as well as getting her race-ready and up to specification.
We have opened a dedicated fundraising page for our Alzheimer's Society donations so that by the time we reach the finish line in Plymouth, we have a huge cheque to give to a most worthy cause.
Your campaign donations continue to go towards equipping us with:
Vital safety equipment
Appropriate sailing clothing
Equipment for the race
Thank you so much
